Wynonna Earp is not the great grandaughter of Wyatt Earp.

Who is Wynonna? Wynonna is a girl who was denied the right to grow up. Season 1 tried to show us a person laden with gall, bitter towards the community, respecting only Sister Waverly, the only link that holds her to a reality from which doctors tried to subtract her. Wynonna is a volcano lurking to release all the energy that has been repressed over the period of institutionalization. This volcano exploded when she met Agent Dolls and confirmed that he had never been crazy when he said that the demons were at the base of the death of his father and sister Willa. Season 2 brought us a Wynonna who was forced to become responsible for an unplanned pregnancy while dividing between Doc Holliday's lure and an irresistible magnetism with Xavier Dolls. For season 3 we expect a Wynonna capable of fighting for the safety of the new heiress of the Earp curse. Aware of the role to play but without losing the badass characteristics, Wynonna will continue to defend Purgatory from the curse of the Ghost River Triangle and the demons that swore revenge on Wyatt Earp.

But history puts us before a mystery. Back in the days of the Gunfight at the OK Corral, we find a sturdy man who has done a little bit of everything in his life, from cowboy to gold prospector, passing a fine pocker, having explored a brothel with his brother James (may have been the one which we now know as "Shorty saloon"), and accurate firearm management. Wyatt Earp was outlawed before he even became a sheriff. The great mystery lies in the fact that Wyatt Earp has not left descendants, although it has lived with three women.

This discovery leads us to wonder who are the descendants that are trapped by the Earp curse?

The descendants appear through brother Virgil Earp who left a daughter, and the sister Adélia Earp that of the eight children: 5 females and 3 males (one of whom passed away at the age of 18).

This tragically means, for the Earp sisters, Wyatt Earp is not their great grandfather, but the great-uncle.

So, who is the great granfather of the Earp sisters? Wynonna Earp comes from a broken family, without the father, dead by her own, and without a mother, a woman who has left home and is in an uncertain whereabouts.

Nellie, Virgil's daughter, grew up without her father at a time when single mothers were associated with less self-sufficient behaviors and were excluded from the more conservative societies of the American continent. The irreverent spirit of Wynonna leads us to believe that his direct descendants are Virgil Earp and not Wyatt Earp, shaking the foundations on which history is told us.

What do you thinl of that?
